Jason Billington is an Academy Award nominated Visual Effects Supervisor based out of Sydney, and is currently working at Method Studios. Jason is originally from Sydney, Australia and has over 18 years of feature film experience at various studios across the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Jason is currently completing work on Legendary Entertainment's "Skyscraper", working as a lead facility completing over 500 shots for the film, released in July 2018.
Jason previously called Industrial Light & Magic home, and was Lead Compositor on Transformers 3 & 4, Pacific Rim, The Avengers and Battleship. He was also the Stereo Supervisor on Pacific Rim and was awarded a patent for Stereoscopic Conversion by the US Patent office. During his time at ILM, Jason was instrumental in the development and future direction of the ILM compositing pipeline, and acted in an advisory capacity with The Foundry regarding the direction of the industry standard compositing tool, Nuke.
During his time as Lead Compositor and senior member of the ILM compositing department, Jason handled the most complex sequences, and initiated enhancements of the tools and processes across various departments. Jason also work's closely with various producers to quote on current & future projects.
